Application Guidelines for Student Poster Session

The student poster session is aimed at discussion and interaction between students and leading researchers of industry, academia, and government. "Excellent Poster Awards" are offered to poster presenters who would like to be reviewed; researchers in industry and academia review a poster presentation based on the following subjects, such as "presenter's contribution to research", "questions and answers", "originality and possibility for development of research". "Best Poster Awards (CSJ Chemistry Festa Awards)" are chosen among "Excellent Poster Awards". The winners will receive prize and will have an opportunity to publish their comments in "Kagaku-to Kogyou (Chemistry & Chemical Industry published by the Chemical Society of Japan) (Issue 1, January 2024). During CSJ Chemistry Festa, participants have an opportunity to interact with researchers in industry at "R&D exhibition booth" presented by industry, academia, and government R&D Introductory Planning Department. The oral session is organized for Ph.D. students this year too.

About Poster Presentation

■Presentation Content and Presenter's Qualification

In order to put emphasis on discussion, you may include the previously published contents. Poster presentations are only for students, and one student can apply for only one poster presentation.

■Presentation Time and Presentation format

60 minutes (1 poster session is 120 minutes. The first 1 hour for presenters whose last digit of the presentation number is an odd number and the latter 1 hour for presenters whose last digit of the presentation number is an even number.) The size of the poster panel will be 180 cm (in height) and 120 cm (in width).

■Poster Award

The organizing committee of CSJ Chemistry Festa reviews poster presentations, and "Best Poster Awards (CSJ Chemistry Festa Awards)" and "Excellent Poster Awards" are offered to poster presenters who would like to be reviewed. If you would like to be reviewed the poster presentation, please check "I would like to be reviewed" in your application.

■Acceptance of Paper and Arrangement of Programs

The organizing committee of CSJ Chemistry Festa will take charge of acceptance of papers and arrangement of programs (category, date and time, and others). Please note that arrangement of programs may not match your preference.

■Copyright

The copyright relating to the contents in the abstracts belongs to The Chemical Society of Japan (CSJ). Therefore, when necessary, the copyright will be reprinted by CSJ's consideration. In addition, when an external organization applies for quotation, CSJ will consider application and allow quotation.

■Patent and the certification of presentation

Call for Paper

June 1 - July 6 5pm 2023
※If the number of applications reaches the upper limit, there is a possibility that the application acceptance will be stopped before the acceptance closing time.

Please use the application form below for 1. Application and 2. Abstract Submission. 1 and 2 need not to be done at same time but note that application will be cancelled if abstract is not submitted within the deadline. If you cannot use the form, please contact the CSJ office as soon as possible. Please note that you cannot apply after the deadline. To apply for the Ph.D. student oral session, you must attend the poster presentation. Application for oral session (Ph.D.) only is not accepted. Please check Oral Presentation (for Ph.D. Student only) application guidelines for details.

  • 1. Application
  • Information of presentation, poster awards, oral session, authors, payment (credit card, bank) must be registered. After completing, "My Page" will be created.

  • 2. Abstract Submission
  • Abstract can be submitted right away after completing 1. or later through "My Page". Note that information of presentation such as presentation title should be the same in abstract and form. If there is a difference in the content, it may not be subject to examination for the poster award.

※Revised abstract should be uploaded via "My Page". Do not make application again.

※Repetitive application must be deleted by the applicant.

※If you cannot use the form, contact the CSJ office as soon as possible. Please note that you cannot apply after the deadline.

■Confirmation of Application

When completing application successfully, applicant will receive the following e-mails. If you have not received them, contact the CSJ office by e-mail. Please note that the CSJ office cannot respond after the deadline.

  • This e-mail will be sent after application is completed to the e-mail address you registered. Registration Number(A23XXXX) and Password are necessary to login to My Page. You can find information about payment on My Page.

  • CSJ化学フェスタ 学生ポスター発表 原稿投稿/Notification of Abstract Acceptance - A23XXXX
  • This e-mail will be sent after uploading your abstract. Revised abstract can be uploaded again through "My Page"

  • CSJ化学フェスタ 学生ポスター発表決済 完了通知/Payment Completed - A23XXXX
  • After your payment is confirmed, you can download your receipt from My Page.

■Notification of Poster Number

The poster number is scheduled to be sent before August 1 by e-mail. If you have not received it, please be sure to contact the CSJ office.

■Withdrawal of Application

Withdrawal of your application disrupt the arrangement of programs. Please be sure to ask your supervisor to check the application details before your application. For whatever reason, replacement or withdrawal of your application is not allowed after the deadline.

■Change of Presenter

Please be sure to contact the CSJ office about change of the presenter. The change is only valid for co-author student listed in the program. In addition, the poster presentation is excluded from nomination for "Poster Awards" when the presenter changes.

Entry and Registration Fee

The entry fee is required for poster presenters. As it covers access to all of the sessions, you do not have to make registration to attend CSJ festa.

  • Student Non-Member 9,000JPY (including tax)

※The entry fee is taxable.

※Please make sure that refund cannot be made after your payment.

■How to Make Payment

After applying, please select the payment method (online credit card or bank transfer) on My Page. If you choose bank transfer, you will receive an email regarding the payment method, please check the email.

Please download and use the template. After preparation of the abstract using the template, convert your abstract to the PDF file.

※Note that application will be cancelled if abstract is not submitted within the deadline.

※Abstracts of the student poster session are not included in the Program (PDF/booklet) but are posted on the webpage of CSJ Chemistry Festa.

■Graphical Abstract

Graphical abstract at a glance is scheduled to open on event page for audiences to browse all the presentation just as on-site session during October 12-19.
